Santuri Ethem Efendi (1855-1926) was a Turkish composer and dulcimer performer who lived and worked during the final decades of the Ottoman Empire. He was born in Istanbul, completed military school and went on to study both classical Turkish music and Western classical music. Of his 300 compositions, he is remembered primarily for his Sehnaz Longa, a dance work in the Sehnaz Makam (mode). Fanfare Alla Turca is an arrangement of Ethem Efendis work which is still popular throughout the Middle East.
