| Composer, performer, ethnomusicologist and music educator Edward J Hines has taught music in Massachusetts public schools since 1988. A 1985-86 Fulbright scholar to the Republic of Turkey, he is founder of the Western Massachusetts-based folk music group ANATOLIA, playing the folk songs and dance music of Turkey and the Arab world. Hines' Middle Eastern music and dance workshops have been presented to K-12 students as well as to university music majors since 1988. His Teaching Middle Eastern Music and Dance clinic has been a feature at state teacher conventions including those in Texas, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island and the MENC Eastern Division Biennial In-Service Conference, Hartford, Connecticut. |
